As a makeup artist I find myself going gray every year when the weather cools off. We tone down our eyeshadow colors and deepen our lips. This makes sense of course because we generally deepen our clothing colors and fabric as well. However this year we have so much COLOR everywhere that it just seems a shame to do another gray/silver eye. So with that in mind I’m going out on a fashion limb with my take on a warm winter makeup. The first is simple and very wearable for day, later this month I’ll show you some more dramatic approaches.
Meet Becky, my lovely model. To keep her face warm I started with MUD’s HD Liquid foundation in YG2/WB2. This liquid is great through an air gun but is even more fantastic hand painted on. It has a luminous quality that I really love and it looks almost invisible on the skin.
Second is a dusting of 2 MUD Dual Finish Mineral Powders in DFL2 and DFM2. I use the lighter one (DFL2) in the highlight areas and the deeper one as a contour. Like the makeup it leaves a very real look to the skin and doesn’t look flat or powdery. I followed with a peach tone blush from Yves Rocher and their Sexy Pulp Blush.
Isn’t she gorgeous! Keep things warm for the holidays, even the skin. We want to look fresh in our pictures, not pale and drab. Right?
Here are some pictures.
Next Week I’ll show you how I did her eyes with a combo of warm and cool tones. Until next time,
